scenery practice... sort of

i've wanted to draw this place since i played the game the first time, but since i suck at buildings and scenery, i kept putting it off until i got a good reference i could copy (meaning: took photos of the tv screen when link arrives to kakariko for the first time.

since i am massive fail at it, i completely botched the perspective despite the ref and tried to cover it up with shiny colors. typical me! oh well.

i've, uh, done it. i spent all the afternoon revamping an old zelda fanart from 2004.
relatively easy, all things considered, since i still liked most of it. i wish i still had the patience to paint stuff like this regularly.

i've been playing on an old wind waker file for the last couple days. i don't do much other than take pictures of people to complete the figurine gallery and get some pieces of heart and charts. i was supposed to get to the earth temple, but i'm too lazy to beat it.

i don't care what anyone says, sailing is 1000 times more fun than riding a horse.

last year i started a short series of sorts, dedicated mostly to experiment with digital textures and color. the test subjects were zelda characters, 'cause even back then i was totally unmotivated to do any original work. i had a lot planned, but ended up stopping at five.

today i went to this fancy cafe/restaurant near college to eat breakfast and i had a cup of the most delicous hot chocolate i've ever tasted. it was like my mouth died and went to heaven... wait, what... well, it was very very very good. A++++ would drink again.

other than that my week sucked and i have the most awful schedule with big time gaps between classes. and i can't go home because a) i don't want to spend too much money on the train specially since i don't have my student pass yet and b) if i go home, i'd be there for like, two hours and then i'd have to run back to college. not very convenient since i live kind of far. so i have to wait in college where i have nothing to do and i'm half asleep and bored to tears. and there's nowhere comfortable to sit.



this week, to avoid going from half asleep to comatose i filled my binder's front pocket with embarrassing doodles.
